As you can see from the image above, the proposal took place at the temple. Not just any, but the one we are going to be sealed in, for time and all eternity. The Orlando, FL temple.
Before we get to the "Will you marry me?", let's catch you up with a little back story. I asked John out first, because I was too impatient. haha I had no idea he had been planning on asking me. We were going to go for a jog in the park. John had changed, was putting his clothes in his trunk, unhooked his car keys from his set, through them in with his clothes, and closed it. Oops. He realized he had the wrong set of keys in his hand. Lucky for him, he got to hang out with my family, spend time with me, and get free pizza.

This wouldn't be the first time he locked his keys in the car..house, whatever. It happened so often, that I finally talked him into making copies, plus get a hide-a-key box.
We had been dating for almost 6 months on the day he proposed. It was a beautiful day. We had gone on a branch temple trip the week prior, but this trip was with the Spanish branch. I had misplaced my temple recommend, so wasn't able to go in the temple. John had to talk me into going anyway. I told him, well, I can take pictures and write in my journal. So we arrive, but we're waiting for his Dad, who's about 30 minutes late. We are walking up to the temple, when I decide to start taking pictures. Which gives John the opportunity to ask his Mom to give him an excuse to go back to the car.

His mom made up an excuse, and John went back to hide the ring. I found him after taking some pictures, and he asked me if I'd like to walk with him, so he could put his Mom's stuff back in the trunk.
I did. It wasn't a surprise. Nothing out of the ordinary. We get to the car, he sets the stuff on top of the truck, while he retrieves the keys. He pats his pocket, and pulls out his keys.(The car was his parent's, so it was a separate key) "Well, here are MY keys..", he says. "Oh nooo, John did you lock them in the car again?" I reply. I automatically go to the passenger window, and John had taken the key off, and left the key chain in the cup holder, making it appear that the keys were in there. "There they are! That better not be the ONLY set you have..", I tell him. He tells me that it's not, and that his parents have a hide-a-key box on their car somewhere too, but that he doesn't know where it's located. So we both bend down looking for the key box under the car. John, of course, knows exactly where it is. He makes up some thing about his family hiding close to the muffler, and says he almost burned his hand.
So he's already on one knee, holding the box...when my phone rings! I didn't notice him on his knee, because he had been knelt down looking for the box anyway. It's not a number I recognize, and I had been desperately looking for a job, so I answer it. It is about a job, so that was my first good news of the evening. John decides he doesn't want to hurt his knee, knowing I'll probably be on the phone for a few minutes, and sits on the curb of the parking space. I get off the phone, and tell John about the job. Then I notice his Dad arrived. "Hey, your Dad is here...wait..why haven't you put the stuff in the trunk yet? didn't you find the key.", I say. John then replies..."I found the key box, but there wasn't a key inside...there was something else..." He hands me the box, with me being completely oblivious. I open it.....I still can not express in words how I felt at that moment. My emotions were crazy! haha I was shocked, ecstatic, did I already say shocked!? haha "Are you serious??" I ask him. "Yes. Will you marry me?" Too stunned to hear him ask, he stands up and asks me again. I said yes...of course! We embrace, he says he loves me, and then leaves me outside the temple, stunned, crying, and laughing. hahaha It was perfect!
